anyone know the pre requisites? I'm really interested in this, also does anyone know of any VERY good schools for astrophysics?|||Keep in mind that there really aren't any jobs in astrophysics or astronomy if you don't have a PhD in physics, astrophysics, or astronomy. So if you're interested, you're looking at about 10 years of college total.
You can start out knowing nothing as an undergrad - you'll want to major in physics with a double major or minor in math and astronomy, if possible - but physics is the most important part; that's what gets you into grad school.
If you're still in high school, take all the math and science you can - and don't skimp on the writing, since you'll need to be able to effectively communicate science through talks and papers.
Good schools for astrophysics : Harvard, Berkeley, CalTech, Columbia, Cornell, UC Santa Cruz, UCLA, UC Boulder, U Washington, U Hawaii, U Chicago, UMass Amherst, Ohio State, UT Austin, U Toronto, Clemson U, Purdue, Princeton, Yale, UC Santa Barbara, U Virgina.|||http://www.uscollegesearch.org/astrophys鈥?/a>
